And I'm back (almost) UPDATEposted Apr 19th 2010, 7:46AM
Mood:
Alright... a few days I finally got a new computer...and it's just been a matter of getting everything set up, downloaded, etc.
It's has a terrabyte of memory, quad-processor, top of line, and has Windows 7 installed (and I already miss Windows XP from my old system).
I'm just mostly waiting for my friend to show up and show me how to hook up my old hard drive to this system to nab my files I had not backed up, and then I'm getting back to work on my stuff.
Sooo.... Huzzah!
UPDATE:
Alrighty. Well, yesterday we opened up my old system to install the hard drive to my new computer (so I could nab my files, and guess what? ...Because my computer is new, it's hard drive set up is new and therefor for some stupid reason, not backwards capable for my old hard drive to hook up to. Lame.
So, we decided to check it out on the family computer. ...We set it up, and it wouldn't start up the hard drive.
Ugh.... I'm really hating myself right now, because if I had just backed up those files like I should had done, then i wouldn't be in this mess... I hate computers.
So... unless my friend figures out how to get it to work soon, my other option is to take the hard drive into a computer repair shop and see if they can get it to work so I can nab my files.
We'll see how it turns out.
UPDATE 2:
Well, my friend couldn't figure out how to fix the problem. he thinks the hard drive either burnt out or is corrupted. That's...just...great. Ugh. Well, I'm going to take it to a repair place and see if they can get the thing to work... not like I have anything to lose at this point.
